A Day at the Zoo
The majority of these pieces were painted for an exhibition with Sydney Children's Hospital. Stephanie has been apart of the Hospital's Art Program annually since her career began including an almost sell out solo show. She taught patients both in the hospital school and bedside with the hope that art could act as a therapy. The concept of 'A Day at the Zoo' was to turn the main corridor into a positive uplifting thoroughfare with animals children love. Many patients are too ill to do what most children can in the outside world so by bringing Taronga Zoo to them we created both a source of distraction and inspiration. Stephanie painted many of the pieces whilst at the zoo studying the behaviours and characters of the animals.
